Istanbul Archaeology Museums Sarcophagus

Phoenician Ionian-type Anthropoid sarcophagus, made of marble, from Palestine, and dating to the 3rd quarter of the 5th century BC on display in the main building of the Istanbul Archaeology Museums. The Istanbul Archaeology Museums, housed in three buildings in what was originally the gardens of the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, holds over 1 million artifacts relating to Islamic art, historical archeology of the Middle East and Europe (as well as Turkey), and a building devoted to the ancient orient.
