Istanbul Naval Museum
The front entrance of the newly constructed Istanbly Naval Museum. On display in front of the Istanbul Navy Museum buiildings is one of the four large propellers of the Battle Cruiser TCG Yavuz, a Turkish First-Class Battle Cruiser that served in the Turkish Navy from 1912 to 1950. The Istanbul Navy Museum dates back over a century but is now housed in a new purpose-built building on the banks of the Bosphorus. While ostensibly relating to Turkish naval history, the core of its collection consists of 14 imperial caiques, mostly from the 19th century, that are displayed on the main two floors of the museum.
