Guatemalan Independence Day Antigua Parade Flame

As part of the celebrations for Guatemalan Independence Day, on the day before groups of older school students in their running gear converge on Parque Central. Organized into school groups, they select one from their class to light the ceremonial torch symbolizing Guatemalan freedom and independence and then lead the class in running through the streets toward their home villages.
