Pakal the Great Sarcophagus at National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO--The funerary effects of Pakal the Great, a mortuary crypt of the Temple of Inscriptions at Palenque. Considered the most complex mausoleum from the Classic period, it was designed to contain the remains of K'inich Hanab Pakal (Pakal the Great). The National Museum of Anthropology showcases significant archaeological and anthropological artifacts from the Mexico's pre-Columbian heritage, including its Aztec and indiginous cultures.
